Miami is the best place to explore the behavior of the invisible and intangible forces that control our digital world. It’s a highly technological, multicultural, and bilingual environment, and a key geographic location for business in the Americas. It’s a broader reflection of the digital world.

The Magic City, and capital of the Americas, receives Social Media Week for the third time in a row. It’s a massive social media event that also takes place in London, Mumbai, Sao Paulo and Miami simultaneously.

SMW Miami has a short but rich history. What began as a small satellite event of the great global conference, has grown into a digital frenzy following its South Florida debut. Now it’s considered a signature event in the region for its unique perspective, using English and Spanish to share the best digital practices. In 2016 there’s a palpable build up for the event, drawing national and international participants, due to Miami’s strategic location in the hemisphere.

The social media platforms of the event reached almost 200 million people in 2015 and the hashtag #SMWMiami became a top 3 trending topic nationally on Twitter during the span of the conference. SMW Miami managed to become the #1 conference in terms of social media reach among the SMW events taking place in september last year.

Demographically, SMW Miami has shown to be a thriving space for professional women in the digital world, with 55% female attendance, often in mid- to top management roles.

From September 12th through 16th, more than 600 renown professionals and experts in digital, media and business fields, will gather in the artistic mecca of South Florida, Wynwood. Chic, bohemian and trendy, the Miami Ad School lends a special environment to the conference, with the great teamwork spirit of a digital startup.
